The Greensboro College men's soccer team begins 2026 with high hopes after a strong 8-6-4 season in 2025, earning them a first round home game in the conference tournament. 

2025 was the first season the team finished with a winning record since 2020, while also hosting a first round conference tournament game for the first time since 2019. The team led the USA South in goals scored with 46, while finishing in the top 25 in all of NCAA Division III in goals per game.

This season, the team has many returners from their 2025 squad, including reigning USA South Rookie of the Year Gustav Ohman and goalkeeper Alvaro Arroyo. The team's third leading scorer, Sergio Garcia-Barrios, also returns for his senior season. 

The team has 15 total players from a year ago returning to go along with an exciting new class of freshmen and transfers. Head coach Jacob Weinshank says of the 2026 squad, "The group has done a great job this preseason building relationships, learning our system, and bringing energy to every session. We are motivated to grow in every match and compete hard every time we step on the field."

The season kicks-off with a home match against Bluefield University on September 1 at 6:00 pm. They then travel to cross-town rival Guilford on September 5 looking to earn back-to-back victories against the Quakers after defeating them 2-0 last season. Conference play begins on September 30 with a trip to Brevard, while the team will travel to play ACC power Duke on October 13. The team wraps up the regular season with a home match against Methodist on October 28.
