Greensboro, NC - After a historic 2025 season, Greensboro College volleyball comes into 2026 with high hopes at winning the USA South Conference title this year. The team set multiple program records last season, including an incredible 23-game winning streak and finishing the regular season 18-0 in conference play, earning the regular season conference championship for the first time since 2005.
The 2026 squad sees a lot of familiar faces returning, including 2025 USA South Player of the Year,
Payton Shiflet, and Libero of the Year,
Morgan Mayfield. The Pride also return key contributors that include defensive specialist,
Grace Young, and
Skylar Rokov, who totaled 135 kills last season.
Head coach
Dan Bozarth returns for his second season after winning USA South Coach of the Year in 2025. Bozarth says of the 2026 team, "We are very excited about the opportunity to defend the USA South Regular Season Championship. I believe we have a great mix of veterans, transfers, and freshmen to compete at a high level this year. We will have a huge test in our first game of the season against a perennial power Washington & Lee."
The Pride will host Washington & Lee on September 1 inside Hanes Gym to begin the new season. Greensboro was also voted #1 in the USA South preseason volleyball poll on Thursday. This is the first time the program has been voted #1 in the preseason poll since 2005.
