The USA South Conference announced their baseball preseason poll on Thursday, and the Greensboro College Baseball team was picked to finish first place.

This is the first time the Pride have been picked to finish first in the USA South preseason poll since the conference's inaugural poll in 2004. The team finished 28-16-1 overall and 15-5-1 in conference play in 2025, eventually falling in the conference championship series.

The team received 46 total points in the poll with 4 first place votes, one point more than second place Methodist. Rounding out the top five are NC Wesleyan, Brevard, and Pfeiffer. 

Head Coach Chris Fenisey says of the team being voted first place in the preseason poll, "It's a credit to players and coaches past and present for the work that has gone into the last five years, but now we view this as an opportunity to prove people right."

The team begins the season with a three game series against Washington & Lee on Friday, February 13.
