The Greensboro women's basketball team travels to Brevard for the first round of the 2025 USA South Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
The Pride and the Tornados will tip-off at 6:00 pm on Tuesday as both teams look to advance to the semifinals on Thursday. For Greensboro, they come in off two losses to end the regular season against SVU and Salem.
Brevard enters as the #2 seed in the tournament while the Pride are the #7 seed. The Tornados won both regular season games against Greensboro this season.Â
One area that Greensboro can capitalize on in this matchup is their three-point defense. They rank third in the conference in three-point field goal percentage allowed at 24%. Brevard's offense shoots a conference-best 31% from long range. They also lead the conference with 181 made three-pointers.
Both team's rebounding numbers are similar, as Brevard averages 30 rebounds per game while the Pride average 38.Â
Greensboro will look to lean on senior
Azuria Barrino, who is coming off a 16 point, 9 rebound performance against Salem. She leads the team in scoring at just over 10 points per game.
Nakiyah Kelly has been a rebounding machine, averaging over 7 rebounds per contest, and they'll need her to come up big on the glass. Kelly also leads the team in steals with 35.
