GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped the final game of the three-game conference series with the Pacers of William Peace University Sunday 9-7.
 
After the two teams played the first two innings to a scoreless draw, William Peace took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third before the Pride answered back with two runs in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead. Chance Bryant hit an RBI single for the first run of the inning before Braxton Rupp grounded out to score Michael Garvey Jr.
 
William Peace then used a three-run fourth inning to jump on top 4-2, but the Pride was able to get one run back in the home half on a Devin Brackin sacrifice fly. 
 
Over the next four innings, the Pacers outscored the Pride 5-1 to take a 9-4 lead into the bottom half of the eighth inning.
 
Jacob Rodriguez singled with one out in the inning and advanced into scoring position on a wild pitch before Jamar Ellis walked to put two runners on. Following Ellis' walk, Brackin also drew a walk to load the bases before Jared Rodriguez battled back from a 0-2 count to draw a walk of his own to make the score 9-5.
 
Following a pitching change, Garvey Jr. laced a single into right field to score Ellis and pull the Pride to within three runs. Later in the inning with two outs, Scotty McGuire tallied an RBI walk to make the score 9-7.
 
Despite having momentum on their side, Greensboro was unable to push another run across and fell by the two-run margin.
 
Garvey Jr. finished with three-hits, while Chance Bryant and Jacob Rodriguez both had two hits. Eli Moravick was credited with the loss.
