Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Athletics has announced the hiring of Ronnisha Cornelius as the program's cheerleading head coach. Cornelius' hiring comes after the school announced in July that cheerleading would be brought back to the athletics program in 2027.

Cornelius comes to Greensboro College from Allen Jay Prep Academy where she was the head cheer coach. She is also the owner and CEO of RAH! Elite All-Stars Dance Company. Previous to Allen Jay Prep Academy, Cornelius was the Director of Cheerleading Operations and Head Coach at Winston-Salem State University from 2012-2014.

In 2012, Cornelius was the Dance Teacher and Head Cheerleading Coach at Quality Education Schools, and from 2010-2013 she was the Head Cheerleading Coach at Simon G. Atkins High School. From 2009-2012, Cornelius made her first stop at Winston-Salem State as the Assistant Cheerleading Coach. Other collegiate stops for Cornelius included Lincoln University as the Athletic Business Operations Manager and Cheerleading Coordinator in 2007 and High Point University, where she was a Volunteer Assistant Co-Ed Cheerleading Coach from 2003-2004.

Cornelius cheered collegiately at Winston-Salem State from 2004-2007, and was a co-ed cheerleader at High Point University from 2001-02. Cornelius says of the opportunity to lead the cheer program at Greensboro College, "I am honored to join Greensboro College as the new Head Cheer Coach. I am back with my first love of traditional cheerleading and the opportunity to restart the Pride Cheerleading program is a dream come true! I look forward to creating a strong foundation centered on discipline, leadership, athlete development, and excellence while building a program the GC community can be proud of. I am ready to bring my passion and vision for the sport to establish a championship culture for cheer for years to come."

Director of Athletics, Jerry Fisk, says of the hiring of Cornelius, "We are very excited to hire Ronnisha to bring back our cheerleading program at Greensboro College. Ronnisha brings a wealth of coaching experience at multiple levels, and we look forward to seeing her lead our cheer program."
