Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Baseball played in the final game of the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament on Sunday and fell 5-3 to William Peace. The loss ends the season for the team, finishing with a 25-17 record.
The Pacers scored the first run of the game in the first inning to go ahead 1-0. They then scored two runs in the fourth to jump out to a 3-0 advantage.
After the Pacers scored again in the fifth,
Evan Sykes hit a three-run homer to bring Greensboro back within a run. Unfortunately that would be all the Pride could muster offensively, as William Peace shut them out the rest of the way.
Greensboro totaled four hits, two of which came from
Jacob Severson. They had five walks but couldn't come up with enough hits with men on base to get past the Pacers.Â
Isaiah Faudoa got the start for Greensboro and went four innings, giving up three runs with two strikeouts.
Michael Richards pitched out of the bullpen, going three innings and giving up two runs.Â
The team earned the USA South Regular Season Championship for the first time in school history in 2026, while head coach
Chris Fenisey earned conference Coach of the Year while
Trevor Testerman earned Player of the Year.
