Greensboro College Women's Lacrosse defender Syndey Patton was named Second Team All-Conference on Thursday. This is the first all-conference selection for Patton in her career.
Patton was a force for Greensboro on both ends of the field in 2026. Defensively, she caused 26 turnovers and also had 39 ground balls. She turned in a solid offensive season too, scoring 19 goals with 6 assists.Â
Head coach
Mallory Zelawski says of Patton's season, "Sydney has had a great season this year. She stepped up to become a utility player for the team, being able to step up in any role on the field where she was needed. Syd really came into her own as a player this season despite fighting injury. She is the kind of player you want on your team; a good teammate, hard worker, and solid student. Her play this season has elevated and we are excited to watch her continued growth."
Bethany McQuinn was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. McQuinn played 17 games this year with 7 caused turnovers and 15 ground balls.Â
