Big Weeks for Patton and Testerman Earn Athlete of the Week Nods

Greensboro, NC- In a week where big offensive outputs were the norm across Greensboro College Athletics, Sydney Patton of women's lacrosse and Trevor Testerman of baseball put up big numbers to be named Greensboro College Athletes of the Week.

Patton began her week with a two goal, two assist performance in a loss against the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, but it was in Saturday's conference bout with Brevard that she delivered one of the best games of her career. Against the Tornados, the sophomore erupted for six goals to lead the Pride to their first conference win of 2026. Her six goals were tied for the sixth most scored in a single game in the USA South this year. For the week, Patton notched 10 points (eight goals, two assists), tying Keira Fenyo for a team-best 16 on the year. Her 14 goals lead the Pride and rank just outside the Top 10 in the USA South.

Women's lacrosse continues conference play at Pfeiffer on Saturday.

The baseball team went 3-1 last week, scoring 46 runs in the process, and Testerman was at the center of the action. In a midweek win against Muskingum, Testerman went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in and a stolen base as he returned to the lineup from an injury suffered the week prior. In the seventh inning, his two-run double pulled the Pride to within one, and in the eighth inning he worked a bases-loaded walk to once again cut the deficit to one, leading to Wesley Calloway's eventual go-ahead single. In the conference opener against N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday, Testerman continued to rake, going 2-for-6 with six runs batted in (including a three-run home run) and a pair of stolen bases. After going 1-for-4 in the middle game of the series, he would close the weekend in style, adding three more hits, three more RBI, and another home run. For the week, Testerman went 8-for-15 (.533 AVG), two home runs, 12 RBI, a double, and four stolen bases. On the year, he ranks second on the Pride in average (.412, 9th in the USA South), homers (3, T-6 in USA South), is tied for the RBI lead with 20 (T-2 USA South), and is a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen bases (1st in USA South).

Baseball returns to action next weekend for a three game set at Pfeiffer.
