GREENSBORO, NC-
Tatum Bradford (women's basketball) and
Ethan Kring (men's wrestling) have been named this week's Greensboro College Athletes of the Week.
Bradford, part of Greensboro's dynamic 1-2 scoring duo with fellow freshman
Kensly Stewart, had a big week for the Pride in a pair of road contests. First, at Meredith, she scored 18 points in just 16 minutes, thanks to four three-point baskets. Then on Saturday, she delivered a career-high 23 points on 8-for-17 shooting (and 5-of-7 from the free throw line) in a close loss at Methodist, while also chipping in with 7 rebounds. She has reached double figures in points in four consecutive games (and 10 out of 14 overall), and her 12.2 points per game mark trails only Stewart on the team.
Kring put on one of Greensboro's most dominant displays in a loss against Averett last Thursday. Squaring off against Warren Carter in the 174-pound class, Kring overpowered Carter en route to a 9-0 major decision. The victory was Kring's 11th individual win this season, moving him into a tie for the team lead with
Omori Lee, now having won three tilts in a row.
Men's wrestling returns to action Thursday with an ODAC match a Randolph, while women's basketball has a pair of home contests this week.
HONORABLE MENTION: DJ Jackson (men's basketball), Allysia Alfred (women's swimming), Justin Brown (men's swimming),
