The Greensboro College Baseball season begins in just under one month, and senior shortstop Evan Sykes was recognized by D3baseball.com as a Preseason Second Team All-American on Wednesday.

Sykes will play his final season as a member of the Pride in 2026, and has already racked up many personal accolades in his career. Sykes was named a 2025 Fourth Team All-American and Second Team All-Region by D3baseball.com after a season in which he hit .357 with 9 home runs and 48 RBI. He was also named USA South Second Team All-Conference last year.

Sykes took over the program career home run record last season, as he enters 2026 with 21 career homers. Currently, Sykes has been named All-Region (2024, 2025) twice, an All-American (2025), and a First Team (2024) and a Second Team (2025) All-Conference player in his career.
