Pride Athletes of the Week Nods Given to Ebert, ManWaring, Barry

Greensboro, NC - Brynly ManWaring (women's lacrosse), Ella Ebert (softball), and Justin Barry (men's lacrosse) have been named this week's Pride Athletes of the Week.

ManWaring continues to impress in her freshman campaign, and has quickly established herself as one of the go-to weapons on the women's lacrosse team. In three games last week, ManWaring scored 15 goals and notched 12 assists, while recording 9 caused turnovers and 8 ground balls. She has now scored five or more goals in each of her last four contests and becomes the first Greensboro freshman to reach the 30 goal plateau since 2018. In total, ManWaring has recorded 37 goals, 18 assists, and 55 points in 10 games.

Ebert, a Pride Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, continues to be hot both at the plate and in the circle. Offensively last week in four games, she went 6-for-13 (.462, in addition to a home run and five RBI. On the year, Ebert ranks 4th on the team with a .354 average, is tied for the team lead with two home runs, and has driven in 20. She also started two games in the circle last week, throwing five shutout innings against Methodist on Saturday, before turning around and delivering a complete game shutout against N.C. Wesleyan on Sunday, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. All told, her weekly tally read 12 innings pitched, zero runs allowed, 11 strikeouts and a 2-0 record with a complete game. She now sports a 5-3 record with a team-best 2.66 ERA in 52 innings of work.

Men's lacrosse only played once last week, but Barry played a huge role in the Pride's 13-6 win over LaGrange. Twice, Barry broke a tie with goals, and would end the day with five goals, two assists, and four ground balls. Barry's 37 goals in 2025 matches his total from last year, giving the Guilford transfer 74 for two seasons. The junior ranks third in the USA South in goals per game, first in points per game, fourth in assists per game, and his 10 points against Oglethorpe earlier this year ranks tied for second-most in a single game by a USA South player this year.
