Greensboro, NC- Softball's Kenly Brown and baseball's Isaiah Faudoa have been named this week's Greensboro College Pride Athletes of the Week.

Softball opened conference play by splitting four games over the weekend; first dropping two games to N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday and then sweeping Methodist on Sunday. Brown started the weekend by going 1-for-5 on Saturday and was the tough-luck losing pitcher in the opening game, allowing just two runs in 4.1 innings of work. However on Sunday, she turned it up a notch at the plate by collecting four hits and delivering a clutch game-winning base hit in extra innings to walk off the Monarchs in Game 1. Brown would follow it up with another three hits in a Game 2 win to complete the weekend 8-for-14 (.571) with 3 RBI, a double and a steal. She raised her batting average from .370 to .474 over the weekend.

The softball team travels to Meredith for a Saturday doubleheader this week.

Faudoa has proven himself to be a force both as a starter and reliever this year. The senior transfer, in his second year at Greensboro College, took the ball for the rubber match against William Peace on Sunday, aiming to give the Pride their third consecutive series win to open conference play. In 7.0 innings of work, Faudoa held the Pacers to just four hits and did not allow a walk, striking out five batters on the way to a complete game shutout. The 10-0 win was the first shutout for Greensboro this season and the first complete game by a pitcher this year. On the season, Faudoa now leads the Pride in strikeouts and has the lowest ERA, WHIP, and OAV amongst pitchers who qualify.

Baseball hosts Methodist this weekend for a three game series, a rematch of last year's USA South Championship Series.
