Tomlinson and Vaughans Advance to Nationals With Finishes at NCWWC Regionals

Franklin Springs, GA - Greensboro women's wrestling competed at the NCWWC women's wrestling regional tournament on Saturday at Emmanuel College to close out the 2024-2025 season.

Kyra Tomlinson (138lb) and Destiny Vaughans (207lb) placed fourth overall in their respective weight classes and qualified for the national tournament. This will be the second time in program history that the Pride women's wrestling program has sent two wrestlers to the national tournament.  The first two women's wrestlers to make the national tournament were Ariana Wolkerstorfer and Isabella Ruiz in 2021-2022.

Tomlinson went 5-2 on the day, with her only two losses coming to Gianna Dibenedetto from Emmanuel. For Vaughans, she went 4-2 for the tournament. She would lose in the semifinal round to Ella Beam of Presbyterian before winning two of her next three matches to earn fourth place.

Genesis Chinchilla and Hayli Carbajal also competed at the regional tournament for the Pride. Carbajal went 0-2 while Chinchilla also went 0-2.

The National Championships will take place March 7th-8th in Coralville, Iowa at Xtream Arena.
