Greensboro, NC- With crossover season in full swing,
Omega Pinnix from the women's swim team and football's
Cameron Turner have been named this week's Greensboro College Athletes of the Week.
Pinnix and the swim team competed against Randolph College and Columbia College on Saturday. Pinnix competed in the 100 yard free, just narrowly edging out Randolph's Taylor Eshelman by 0.14 seconds to win. Then, in the 100 yard backstroke, Pinnix dominated, winning by nearly seven seconds over second place. She has now won five out of seven events she has swam in 2025-26, including sweeping all four events over her last two meets.
Swim returns to action at the Keydet Invite in Lexington, VA.
Making just the third start of his career, Turner turned in a phenomenal performance, totaling five touchdowns and 406 yards in Greensboro's 38-29 win over N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday. Through the air, Turner completed 17-of-24 passing for 296 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. On the ground, he became the first Greensboro quarterback since at least 2009 to rush for 100 yards in a game, leading the team with 110 yards on the ground, as well as another touchdown. Down by as many as eight in the third quarter, Turner and the Pride outscored the Battling Bishops 19-8 in the final quarter to secure their second win of the season.
Football ends its 2025 campaign at home with Senior Day on Saturday against Methodist.
