Greensboro, NC - Payton Shiflet of the Greensboro College volleyball team and Gustav Ohman from men's soccer have been named this week's Greensboro College Athletes of the Week.

Shiflet again played a huge role for the Pride last week, helping volleyball go 3-0 (including 2-0 in conference play). In a battle between the top two teams in the USA South on Wednesday, Shiflet recorded 19 kills, a pair of assists, two blocks and 15 digs (her second-highest total of the season), as the Pride swept Salem. In a tri-match on Saturday (against Pfeiffer and non-conference Warren Wilson, respectively), Shiflet combined for 30 kills, 12 digs, two aces and four blocks and the Pride ran their winning streak to 17 consecutive sets and seven consecutive matches. She now ranks 1st in the USA South in attacks per set (25th in Division III), 1st in kills per set (12th in Division III), and 1st in points per set (16th in Division III).

Volleyball is on the road at Southern Virginia on Wednesday before a Saturday tri-match against conference opponent N.C. Wesleyan and non-conference Trinity Baptist.

Ohman was shut out on one shot against Brevard on Wednesday, before breaking loose for two goals, including the game winner, against Warren Wilson on four shots (two on goal). He now holds the team lead in goals this season with six, which ranks fifth in the USA South, while his 15 points is good for fourth highest in the conference. Four of Ohman's six goals have come on the road in 2025.
