Women's Wrestling Shines in Greensboro Invitational

Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro women's wrestling team hosted the Greensboro College Invitational on Tuesday that included Randolph College and Southern Virginia. The Pride had a strong showing in multiple weight classes during the day.

Destiny Vaughans took home first place in the 207 pound class, defeating Randolph's Mikayla Ozueh twice by Fall. Genesis Chinchilla won two of her three matches in the 160 pound class, taking home wins against the Pride's own Haylie Carbajal and then Eve Beckstead from Southern Virginia. Carbajal got a win by Fall over Beckstead as well in just 24 seconds.

With her two wins on Tuesday, Vaughans is now 6-0 on the season. In two exhibition matches, Greensboro's Kyra Tomlinson went 1-1 on the day.

The Pride will wrestle again on December 8th when they travel to Mount Olive for a quad match.
