Greensboro's men's basketball team battled the Falcons into a tough overtime loss on Saturday night (February 12). Despite 24 points from
Keyshawn Dorsey, the Pride were outscored 13-3 in the overtime period to see Pfeiffer come out on top 94-84.
Dorsey was joined by
Greyson Collins,
Kevon Meertins, and
Matthew Brown as Greensboro players reaching double figures, but the Pride failed to make any field goal attempts in overtime.
Greensboro was able to take a five point lead into halftime after
Ty Hill made a buzzer-beating layup to put the Pride ahead 41-36. Both teams would continue to battle in the second half, and Greensboro held an 81-79 lead in the final seconds until the Falcons' Craig Sabb hit a game-tying layup with just :04 seconds left in the second half.Â
Kevon Meertins' game-winning attempt fell short and the two teams would head to overtime.
The Pride gets a few days rest before hosting Southern Virginia on Tuesday night (February 15). Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
