2021-22: Appeared in 25 games, starting 24.  Averaged 14.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, including shooting .378 percent from the field.  On December 11th against Mary Baldwin, Meertins posted a career-high 29 points.  He also put in 27 points and eight rebounds against NC Wesleyan on January 22nd.

2020-21: Started all ten games played before his season was cut short due to injury. Meertins averaged 9.8 points per game, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. He shot .379 from the field and .708 from the foul line. He posted 19 points on seven-for-11 shooting while amassing seven rebounds in the January 21 game at Roanoke. Meertins tallied 21 points on eight-of-12 shooting the January 21 game at N.C. Wesleyan.

2019-20: Appeared in 24 games and made five starts, averaging 6.8 ppg,1.8 rpg while posting 21 steals for the season. Meertins posted 19 points on six-of-nine shooting in the January 15 game at Pfeiffer. He posted consecutive 21-point efforts on February 15 at Methodist and February 18 against N.C. Wesleyan.
 
2018-19: Appeared in 23 games and made one start, averaging 8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, and swiped 19 steals for the season. Meertins posted 16 points in the February 2 game at N.C. Wesleyan. He also tallied 11 points and six rebounds in the February 9 game at Brevard.
 
Prep: Meertins was a member of the basketball team at Hickory Ridge High School. He earned Team MVP in 2017-2018.
 
Personal: Meertins is the son of Clayton and Ronda. He also has a brother named Kyle.
