The Greensboro College women's basketball team hosted Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a non-conference matchup. After a back and forth first three quarters, the Pride edged the Mustangs 87-66.
The Mustangs (5-5, 1-0), got out in front first but not before the Pride (10-1,3-1), would stay neck and neck throughout the remainder of the first period.
In the second, the Mustangs stayed hot as Tyeshia Williams and Kayla Kent hit some key three-point baskets to keep the Mustangs ahead. The Pride would not back down as
Lauren Livingston hit a jumper to put the Pride back on top heading into the half leading 39-35.
After the break,
Ta'Keria Legette let loose a shot beyond the arc to extend the lead for the Pride. The Pride never trailed in the contest after the half.
The Pride were led by Legette with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 steals.
Quadijah Moore also had a solid performance finishing with a double-double, 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks.
GC snagged 41 rebounds and had 15 steals on the night. Leading the way for the all players and Mustangs was Tyeshia Williams with 30 points.
Greensboro was originally scheduled to host Pfeiffer University on Friday at 5:30 P.M., but that game has been rescheduled to January 20th at 6:00 P.M.
The Pride will host conference foe, Meredith College on Saturday with tip-off set for 2:00 P.M.
