Box Score The Greensboro College women's basketball team hosted conference foe, Meredith College on Saturday afternoon. The Pride would use a big fourth quarter to push past the Angels 70-47.Â
The first three quarters saw Meredith College (2-10, 2-4), and the Pride (11-1, 4-1), exchange baskets until the fourth quarter proved to be too much for the Angels.Â
Coming out of the break,
Quadijah Moore and
Lauren Livingston gave the Pride the spark they had been looking for. Moore would hit a reverse layup to give the Pride their first lead since a little under two minutes to go in the second period. Livingston would then sink a jumper from the elbow to extend the Pride's lead, proving to pave the way for their strong finish.Â
The Pride came out hot in the fourth period with
Karli Mason knocking down a deep three-point shot. The Pride would then go on the extend their lead to as much as twenty three points in the fourth period.Â
Leading the way for the Pride was
Ta'Keria Legette with 21 points and 5 steals on the day. Also finishing in double-digits was Moore with 12 points and 4 blocks.Â
GC pulled down 37 boards and had 13 steals on the day. Leading the way for Meredith was Kate Perko, finishing with a double-double, 16 points and 14 rebounds and playing all 40 minutes.Â
Greensboro will next travel to Fayetteville, N.C. to face Methodist University in a conference match-up. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 P.M.
