Behind 12 different scorers, the Greensboro College women's basketball team cruised to a 95-45 win over Warren Wilson College. The 6-0 start for the Pride is the best start since the 2017-18 season.
Warren Wilson (2-4) opened the game with a three-point shot before Greensboro went on a 11-0 run.
Ta'Keria Legette scored five of the 11 as the Pride forced five turnovers over the 4:40. Both teams exchanged makes before the first period ended as GC was ahead 16-7.
In the second period, the Pride kept the pressure on as they out scored the Owls 31-7.
Karli Mason led the team with nine points as the team went 12-16 from the field and collected six steals. Greensboro led 47-14 at the half.
The third and fourth quarters were the best scoring periods for Warren Wilson but were not able to trim the lead. The Pride scored 23 and 25 points, respectively to seal the 50-point victory.
Lauren Livingston and
Quadijah Moore led the Pride with 16 points.
Briana Milton finished with a double-double as she had 10 points and rebounds on the afternoon.Â
GC were 51.4-percent from the field as the defense forced 37 turnovers. The Pride out scored the Owls in the Paint (48-16) and points of turnovers (47-5).
Greensboro opens the USA South Athletic Conference gameplay at Pfeiffer University on Tuesday, November 30. Start time is set for 7:00 p.m.
