GC Continues Undefeated Run

The Greensboro College women's basketball team continued its undefeated start to the season in a rematch with the Regent University Royals. The Pride nearly repeated its performance as they won 91-34.

Regent (1-3) scored the opening point on a free throw. Greensboro (5-0) then outscored its opponent 24-3 for the remainder of the first period. The Pride forced 11 turnovers while Ta'Keria Legette led the team with nine points as they led 24-4.

The second period was similar to the first as GC opened on a 9-1 run to lead 33-5 at the 6:58 mark. Both squads went back-and-forth until the Royals scored six-straight (48-19). Lauren Livingston completed a three-point play to end the half as Greensboro was up by 32 (51-19).

Regent started the third off by scoring four of the first seven points. However, the Pride proved to much as it ended the period on a 12-0 run, going 5-9 from the field.

In the fourth, the Royals tried to chip away at the difference but it was too much. Greensboro won the period 25-11 and the game by 57 points.

Karli Mason led the Pride with 18 points while Livingston finished with 17. Quadijah Moore and Legette were close to double-doubles on the evening. Moore had 12 points and eight rebounds while Legette added 11 pionts and nine rebounds.

GC shot 45.3-percent from the field, grabbed 47 rebounds and forced 33 turnovers on the evening. 40 of the 91 points scored by the Pride were off turnovers while 42 of the 91 came from within the paint.

Greensboro stays home as it hosts another in-season rematch, this time against Warren Wilson. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
