The Greensboro College men's basketball team welcomed fellow Greensboro institution, Guilford College. Despite leading midway through the second half, the Pride fell to the Quakers, 57-51.
Coming out of halftime, Greensboro (1-4) led 24-22 and opened the half with an 11-2 run as the team hit three three-pointers.
Guilford (1-2) slowly narrowed the gap and over a period of 8:33, the Quakers used a 15-3 run to capture its first lead (45-43) since the four-minute mark of the first half.Â
Greyson Collins took the lead back for the Pride with a three at the 5:23 mark. Guilford began another run, this one of 12-5 to close out the game and win by six. The Quakers were 2-4 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line while Greensboro went 2-9 from the field with three turnovers.

Matthew Brown recorded a double-double with 10 points and rebounds. Guilford's Liam Ward led all scorers with 25 points along with 13 points from Joah Logan.
The first half was a defensive battle between both squads as the Pride held the early advantage (10-5) at the 15:15 mark. Greensboro kept the lead until 4:52 was left in the first as the Quakers were on an 11-2 run to jump ahead 18-16.Â
GC answered as it scored six of the next eight points to capture a two-point edge, 22-20. The lead remained at two as the halftime horn sounded.
Guilford shot 42-percent from the floor and went 13-20 (.650) from the charity stripe. Greensboro was a perfect 8-8 from the line and made nine three-pointers but as a team it shot 30.9-percent overall.Â
The Pride will face another Greensboro higher education program in North Carolina A&T State on Thursday, November 18. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
