The Greensboro College women's basketball team faced Ferrum College on the road. The Pride used a 60-point second half to win 94-54.
Going into the third quarter, Greensboro (2-0) led 34-30 and opened the quarter on a 9-0 run to lead 43-30 at the 7:23 mark in the third. The Pride opened their lead to 20 points and eventually led 64-41 at the end of the third.
In the fourth, Ferrum (1-1) tried to cut into the deficit but were unsuccessful. GC outscored the Panthers 30-13 and won by the 40-point margin.
Quadijah Moore led the Pride with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
Aliyah Whiteside also scored 18 points while also grabbing eight rebounds and three steals.
Lauren Livingston contributed 17 points with seven assists and four rebounds.
In the first half, both teams held the lead until Ferrum led 17-12 with 2:00 to go in the first quarter. Greensboro closed out the first on a 6-0 run, capped off by a three-pointer by
Karli Mason to lead 18-17.
In the second period, the Pride grew their lead to five points (24-19). The Panthers kept cutting the difference till three until GC led 34-25 with 3:40 to go in the first half. Ferrum pulled with four (34-30) to end the half.
The Panthers were led by Jacy Marvin with a game-high 21 points while DeMeisha Canada finished with a double-double, 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Pride held advantage in rebounds (48-39), points in the paint (38-16) and bench points (37-9).
Greensboro travels to Warren Wilson on Tuesday, November 16 to face the Owls. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
