The Greensboro College volleyball team faced the Averett University Cougars. The Pride fell to the visitors in straight sets.
Averett improves to 12-4 overall and a 4-2 record in the USA South as it won by scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-21. The loss drops Greensboro to 11-8 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Carly Uhlir led the Pride attacked with eight kills while also adding 13 digs and two blocks.
Sarah Oakes added six kills as
Hailey Stout shifted positions throughout the match and finished with 21 digs and 10 assists.
Defensively,
Natalie Rosinski blocked three attacks while
Katrina O'Neill contributed two others.Â
The Cougars' Sarah Shropshire had a match-high 11 kills with eight more from Lauren Montren. Erin Gray finished with 32 digs with Kinsley Stevens corralling 17 assists and two aces.
Greensboro travels to Fayetteville on Saturday, October 9 for tri-match with Methodist University and William Peace University. First match starts at 12:00 p.m.
