2021: Played in 28 matches and started in 13 of those. She posted a .128 hitting percentage with 171 kills and 10 assists. She added 100 digs and 66 total blocks.

2020 (played in Spring 2021): Posted a team-leading .260 hitting percentage with 82 kills, 18 service aces, 25 digs, and a team-leading 34 total blocks. She posted nine kills with a .500 hitting percentage with four total blocks in the second match on March 6 against N.C. Wesleyan. Oakes tallied eight kills and ten total blocks, a career-high, in the the first march on March 27 against Meredith. She posted eight kills with a .300 hitting percentage in the second match April 10 at William Peace. Oakes was named to the All-USA South East Division Second Team.

2019: Played in all 34 matches where she posted a .114 hitting percentage with 155 kills, 26 service aces, 72 digs, and a team-leading 82 blocks.  She tallied eight kills and a .238 hitting percentage with four total blocks in the September 28 match against Pfeiffer. On October 26, she tallied eight kills and three service aces against N.C. Wesleyan.

High School: Four-sport athlete at Marion Senior High School, competing in basketball, softball, track and volleyball. Earned multiple All-District accolades. In addition to her athletic work, Sarah also excelled in the classroom as she was member of the Beta Club.

Personal: Daughter of Todd and Vicki Oakes. She also has one sibling, Micheal. Majoring in Biology with minor in Chemistry.

Favorite Athletic Moment: "Winning the state championship my sophomore year of high school since it was the first one."
