GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team overcame a slow start to defeat the Wildcats of Randolph College Saturday 16-5.
Randolph held a 2-1 lead heading into the second period before
Davis Miller scored his 12
th goal of the season to tie the game with 12:23 showing on the clock. The Wildcats then regained a one-goal lead two minutes later, but the Pride scored the final five goals of the period to take a 7-3 lead into halftime.
Spencer Kontoulas accounted for two of the goals, while Abourjilie and
William Beyer both had one goal.
Following the break, Greensboro outscored the Wildcats 6-0 in the third period, behind two goals each by Kontoulas and
Davis Miller, to take a 13-3 lead into the final 15 minutes. During that span, Abourjilie struck for two more goals, while
Gage Pearman also scored to secure the 11-goal victory.
Beyer finished with two goals and five assists on the day while Abourjilie had five goals and four assists.
Christopher Stallings had 10 saves in just over 41 minutes of action to secure the victory in goal.
Kyle Ishler,
Kamden Williams, and
Tim Martin combined to play the final 19 minutes in goal.
