HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Greensboro College baseball team fell to the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College Wednesday 9-8.
Greensboro took a one-run lead in the first inning on a single by
Kendal Tucker before
Jacob Rodriguez,
Jamar Ellis, and
Brayden King tallied RBI hits in the third inning to make the score 5-0 heading into the bottom half of the inning.
With the Pride holding on to the five-run advantage, the Tigers got on the board with one run to cut the Greensboro advantage to 5-1 heading into the fourth.
However, Greensboro added three runs in the fourth, highlighted by a two RBI homerun by
Braxton Rupp, to establish a seven-run lead. Despite having the large lead through the fifth inning, the Tigers went on to score eight runs over the final three innings to steal the one-run victory.
Kameron Keim was credited with the loss, while
Cole Cooper started the game and allowed one run over five innings. Rupp finished with three hits to lead the Pride.
Michael Garvey Jr., Tucker, and King each had two hits.
