ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's basketball team fell to the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College Wednesday 107-70.
The Bishops held a three-point lead just four minutes into the game for the Pride used a 4-0 run to take a 10-9 edge with 15:49 showing on the clock.
Keyshawn Dorsey got the first basket of the brief run before
Eric Peaks Jr. hit a pair of free throws after the under-16 media timeout.
The two teams then traded the lead back and forth over the five minute before the Bishops were able to pull away over the final six minutes of the half to take a 49-33 lead into halftime.
Following the break, Greensboro struggled to get anything going offensively and could not recover as the Bishops continued to extend their lead and secured the victory.
Peaks Jr. finished with a team-leading 14 points, while
Keyford Langley and
Greyson Collins both had nine points.
Matthew Brown and
Michael Phifer combined for 12 points and 11 rebounds of the day.
