Baseball Drops A Pair of Games Against William Peace

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped two games to the Pacers of William Peace University Friday.

In game one, the Pride struggled to get anything going at the plate, falling 14-0.

Blake Carroll, Brady Dignan, Hunter Curtis and Lincoln Hewett had one hit each. Piero Amador took the loss on the mound.

In the second game, the Pacers took a one-run lead in the top half of fourth inning before Greensboro struck for five runs in the bottom half to take a 5-1 lead.

Brayden King tallied a sacrifice fly RBI for the Pride's first run before Tim Osborne came across the plate on a Carroll single to centerfield.

Following the Carroll single, Hunter Curtis tallied an infield RBI single, followed by a two RBI single to right field by Scotty McGuire.

Despite establishing the four-run lead, Greensboro was unable to hold off the Pacers as they scored the game's final eight runs to secure the four-run win.

Dignan tallied a game-high three hits, while Curtis chipped in two hits. Will Hicks had a strong starting effort on the mound but did not factor into the decision.

"It was not the result we wanted out of the day," head coach Frank Maldonado said. "We just got outplayed in all areas of the game.

"We will be ready for Sunday."

The Pride and the Pacers will close out the three-game set at 2 p.m. Sunday. Prior to the start of the game, the Pride will recognize their 10 seniors. For more information on Greensboro College baseball, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
