PREP: Yates allowed a career 1.64 ERA in high school. He was awarded the Golden Arm Award in both 2014 and 2015. Along with his athletic achievements, he graduated in the top 20% of his class with a weighted GPA of 5.5. He is the son of Doug and Cindy Yates and has two brothers, Ryan and Evan.
