MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Greensboro College baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game set with the Hawks of Huntingdon College Saturday, 6-5.
Greensboro got on the board first with one run in the first inning before
Jacob Rodriguez and
Tyler Price recorded RBIs in the second inning to extend the Pride lead to 3-0.
Huntingdon then scratched two runs across in the bottom half to pull within one run at 3-2.
Following the two-run inning by the Hawks, Greensboro once again regained their two-run edge in the fourth inning as
Jimmy Short plated
Brady Dignan with a single down the left filed line.
The score then remained the same for the next three innings before Greensboro got their final run of the game in the seventh on a
Scotty McGuire single to right field.
With Greensboro leading 5-2, Huntingdon went on to score one run in the eighth and three runs in the ninth to secure the walk-off win.
"Tough was to lose a game but we are still in a position to do what we came here to do, and that is to win a series," Head Coach
Frank Maldonado said. "I know my guys will bounce back."
McGuire and Short each had three hits on the day, while
Tyler Price had two.
Tim Osborne,
Blake Glass and
Blake Carroll had one hit apiece.
Will Hicks recorded four strikeouts over eight innings but did not factor into the decision.
Christian Kercado was credited with the loss.
