GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's soccer team needed a strong second half to comeback from an early deficit to beat Ferrum College Tuesday, 3-1.

A slow start hurt the Pride (5-3, 3-0 USA South) as the Panthers (3-7, 1-2 USA South) got on the board first in the 31^st minute, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Cole Watkins then scored a pair of goals for the Pride in the 50^th and 51^st minutes to give Greensboro a one-goal lead. The first goal came when Jared Heller beat a defender on the right side and slotted a ball back for Watkins to finish. 

A minute later the two connected again.  Heller played in a corner kick and found the head of Watkins to put the Pride on top.

To seal the game away, Carlos Barragan slipped a threw-ball into Andrew Moebius, who chipped the ball over the Panther keeper, securing the 3-1 victory.

Jamie Payamps picked up the win in goal for Greensboro after recording three saves. Despite recording four saves, Derek Thomas took the loss for Ferrum.

"It was a tale of two halves." Head Coach Tony Falvino said, "The boys came out flat in the first half, and showed character in the second half.

"We asserted our dominance and we were able to capitalize on our chances."
