Pride Women Drop Second Straight To Open Conference Play

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's soccer team dropped its second consecutive USA South Athletic Conference contest Sunday against Meredith College, 1-0.

The Angels (3-2, 2-0 USA South) scored the game's lone goal in the 23rd minute.

Greensboro (4-2, 0-2 USA South) had several chances to find the equalizer, but could not get a shot on frame.

"I am proud of my girls as they battled for a full 90 minutes," Head Coach Gus Mota said. "We have some things that we still need to work on the attacking third. When we can clean that up, things will start rolling."

Lauren Greeson, Caitlyn Cook, Mercedes Fisher, Meredith Priest, Anna Rae Porcelli, and Alexa Rehling each had one shot. Brittany Morrison took the loss in goal despite recording five saves.

The Pride women will return to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday when they open a five-game road swing at William Peace University. For more information on Greensboro College women's soccer, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
