Prep: Mackenzie came to Greensboro College following her graduation from Eastern Alamance High School. During her time at Eastern Alamance, Burns ran on the track team, while standing out on the soccer field where she earned 3A Mid-State All-Conference and Defensive Player of the Year accolades. In addition, Mackenzie excelled in the classroom as she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Outside of Eastern, Burns was a member of the Burlington Soccer Club.

Personal: Mackenzie is the daughter of Julie and Travis Burns. She also has one sister, Emily.

Favorite Athletic Moment: "Winning the conference championship last year was great. We worked so hard and all that hard work and determination allowed us to win."
