Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College football started the season off in style with a 48-7 win over rival Guilford in the Soup Bowl on Saturday, and quarterback
Cameron Turner was recognized for his great play on Saturday night. Turner was named USA South Offensive Player of the Week after a four touchdown performance in the season opener.
Turner, a sophomore from Lakeland, Florida, went 13-22 through the air with 244 yards and three touchdown passes. Turner also rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown. Turner's 244 passing yards was the second highest for a single game in his career.Â
Turner helped lead the team to it's second straight win over Guilford College, and the most points the program has scored against the Quakers in series history.Â
