GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro College women's soccer (1-0-1) defeated Warren Wilson (0-1-1) 6-0 on Sunday at Pride Field. Greensboro outshot Warren Wilson 28-1, put 19 of its attempts on goal and did not allow a shot on goal.
Abby Lush recorded a hat trick, scoring on all three of her shots. It was the first hat trick since Amery Skinner's hat trick in the USA South Tournament in 2024.
Maci Link finished with a goal and an assist while putting all three of her shots on goal.
Isabella Kelly scored the game-winning goal on her only shot.
Addison Self recorded two assists and added two shots.
Greensboro created the first look when Self shot wide at :17, and after Warren Wilson's Verena Pate missed high at 5:38,
Cailey Petrauskas forced a save before Kelly scored off Self's assist at 8:03 for a 1-0 lead. Lush added another goal from Link at 12:05, and Greensboro kept the pressure on with multiple corner kicks and a Petrauskas shot before Link finished
Natalie Doyel's assist at 21:55 to make it 3-0. The Pride continued to create chances after the midway point of the half, including shots by Self,
Addysen Cole and
Shae Brennan around several offside calls. Lush scored again at 32:10 off
Trinity Robinson's assist,
Lila Shortell put a shot on frame in the 40th minute, and
Abigail Sanzotta scored at 40:20 as Greensboro took a 5-0 lead into halftime.
Greensboro opened the second half with pressure while holding a 5-0 lead, getting shots from Link,
Alex Dawson, Doyel, Petrauskas and Brennan between 48:07 and 55:52, with Nassi Robinson saving two of them. Lush added to the margin at 59:02, finishing off an assist from Self to make it 6-0. Greensboro kept the ball in the attacking end later in the half, including Shortell hitting the right woodwork at 72:02 and a stretch of four corner kicks and several Robinson saves from 72:12 through 79:58.
Leah Blackwell put two late shots on frame as Greensboro finished the half without allowing a goal and completed the 6-0 win.
