Greensboro College Pride

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Greensboro College men's soccer (5-0-1) defeated Regent (0-7) 5-0 on Saturday. Greensboro scored three times in the first half and finished with a 17-5 shot advantage, including 13 shots on goal.

First Half

• Greensboro put early pressure on goal with shots by Ryder Tormaschy at 1:40 and Gustav Ohman at 5:35, both saved by Connor Henriques.
• Ohman opened the scoring at 17:08 off an assist from Jalen King, and Jade Diane made it 2-0 at 24:09 from Kayden Brimah.
• Diane added another goal at 32:10 with an assist from Toby Barnes, while Alvaro Arroyo saved Regent's late shot at 36:29 to keep Greensboro ahead 3-0 at halftime.

Second Half

• Greensboro opened the half with four shots and two corner kicks in the first 10 minutes, then Axel Garcia scored at 54:24 to make it 4-0. It was Garcia's first goal of the season.
• Regent generated three corner kicks and three shots from 61:20 to 72:32, but Alvaro Arroyo saved attempts by Jones Ferguson and Samuel Green, including two from Green.
• Jamie Davis added Greensboro's final goal at 82:50 off an assist from Thom Keasberry, and Greensboro finished with a 5-0 win.

Diane scored twice and put three of his four shots on goal. Diane's two goals marked a season-high for him. Ohman recorded the game-winning goal and placed all four of his shots on frame. Alvaro Arroyo made four saves over 90 minutes and finished with a shutout.

Greensboro finished with 17 shots and 13 shots on goal, while Regent had five shots and four on goal. The defensive side of the result included a full-match shutout from Alvaro Arroyo, who made four saves.

Ohman opened the scoring at 17:08 off King's assist, and Greensboro pushed the first half to a 3-0 halftime advantage behind two Diane goals. Before the opener, Greensboro put shots on goal from Tormaschy and Ohman in the first six minutes, both saved by Connor Henriques. Diane scored at 24:09 from Brimah and again at 32:10 from Barnes, while Alvaro Arroyo's save at 36:29 helped keep Regent off the board.

Greensboro carried its attack into the second half, recording four shots and two corner kicks before Axel Garcia scored at 54:24 to make it 4-0. Alvaro Arroyo made three saves between 63:02 and 72:32 as Greensboro kept Regent off the board. Davis added a goal at 82:50 off Keasberry's assist, and Greensboro closed out the half with a 5-0 win. Greensboro registered four assists in the game, exceeding their season average of 1.8.
