GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro College football (1-2) lost to Bluefield University (1-2) 28-7 on Saturday. Greensboro's lone touchdown capped a 10-play, 70-yard drive early in the second quarter, but it was held scoreless the rest of the way.
Greensboro generated three takeaways and did not commit a turnover, but Bluefield finished with more rushing production, totaling 271 yards on the ground to Greensboro's 175. The red-zone contrast was also pronounced: Greensboro came away empty on four trips, while Bluefield scored on all three of its red-zone opportunities.
Greensboro's defense produced two first-quarter turnovers, with Colyer intercepting Zack Paulk at the Bluefield 49 and
Ziere Ray later sacking Paulk and recovering the fumble at the Greensboro 30. The offense moved into Bluefield territory on each of its three possessions, including a late drive that featured Westmoreland's 16-yard run and
Camron Torrence-Kelly's fourth-down conversion at the Bluefield 41. The first quarter ended scoreless with Greensboro at the Bluefield 34.
Greensboro started the second quarter by finishing a drive with Westmoreland's 28-yard touchdown run, and
Jacob Cook's PAT made it 7-0. Greensboro later drove to the Bluefield Univ. 15 before a missed 30-yard field goal, and Bluefield responded with a 39-yard touchdown pass before the PAT tied the game at 7. Greensboro moved from its 19 to the Bluefield 36 in the final minute, but the second quarter ended tied 7-7.
In the third quarter, Greensboro was held scoreless, with its best possession reaching the Bluefield 20 before a fourth-down rush ended in a turnover on downs. The defense forced punts on Bluefield's first two drives, but the Rams later went 85 yards and scored on Kyree Edwards' 15-yard run with 1:23 left. After the extra point, Greensboro entered the fourth quarter trailing 14-7.

Cameron Turner completion to
CJ Martin and a 22-yard Westmoreland run, but that drive ended on downs at the 24. Barnes later sacked Teddy Watson and Law recovered the fumble at the Bluefield 12, but Greensboro again turned it over on downs before the game ended 28-7.
Kyjuan Westmoreland rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and added three receptions for 46 yards.
Jay Law led Greensboro with eight tackles and recovered a fumble.
Ziere Ray finished with five tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Jadon Barnes also forced a fumble, marking his first of the season.
Scoot Colyer recorded three tackles and an interception, their first interception of the season.
Camron Torrence-Kelly moved into the top-10 in program history in career rushing yards.
