GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro College men's soccer (4-0-1) tied Warren Wilson (0-3-1) 1-1 on Wednesday at Pride Field.
Jade Diane scored at 77:24 as the Pride equalized after trailing 1-0.
First half
- The Pride created an early look when Diane's shot at 16:50 was saved by Connor Makiaulan-Barish, and
Alvaro Arroyo answered with a save on Warren Wilson's attempt at 22:22.
- The Pride generated pressure later in the half, getting shots from
Ryder Tormaschy and
Jamie Davis before adding corner kicks at 30:56 and 32:43.
- The Pride continued to work through set pieces with corner kicks at 40:16 and 40:42, followed by a
Leo Foersti shot at 41:00 that missed high.
- Warren Wilson scored at 44:17 when Eric Villeda finished off an assist from Jaime Millan, sending the Pride into halftime down 1-0.
Second half
- The Pride pressed for an equalizer after halftime, taking shots by Tormaschy,
Aro Sardar,
Oliver Randholm Luque and
Gustav Ohman while Warren Wilson held a 1-0 lead.
- The half grew more physical through the middle stages before the Pride broke through at 77:24, when Diane converted a penalty kick to tie the match 1-1.
- The Pride kept pushing after the equalizer with Diane's saved shot, another Ohman attempt and Davis hitting the woodwork, before Warren Wilson answered with three late shots as the match finished 1-1.
Diane scored the Pride's goal, converted his lone penalty-kick attempt and put all three of his shots on goal. Arroyo played all 90 minutes in goal and made one save while allowing one goal.
