SALEM, VA. — Greensboro College women's soccer (2-2-1) lost to Farmingdale State (3-1) 3-0 on Sunday. Greensboro was limited to one shot and one shot on goal, while Farmingdale St. finished with 20 shots and 10 on goal.
Alyssa Lane recorded seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Alex Dawson registered Greensboro's lone shot and put it on goal.
The teams finished close in fouls, with Greensboro whistled for 11 and Farmingdale St. for 10.
Greensboro spent the first half defending after Kayla Mendez put Farmingdale St. ahead 1-0 in the 16th minute. Lane kept Greensboro within one with six saves, including two in the final nine minutes, and Farmingdale St. carried the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Greensboro's second-half deficit grew at 62:01, when Jenna Biondo scored for Farmingdale St. to make it 2-0. After Katelyn Nunziato's goal off Maddie Fenwick's assist made it 3-0 at 77:42, Dawson put Greensboro's lone recorded shot of the half on frame in the 80th minute. The Pride also earned a corner kick at 82:40, but the match finished 3-0.
