Harrisonburg, VA - Greensboro College women's soccer (0-0-1) played Eastern Mennonite (0-0-1) to a 0-0 tie on Tuesday night to open the 2026 season.
Alyssa Lane played all 90 minutes in goal, making four saves and finished with a shutout in her collegiate debut.
Shae Brennan put both of her shots on the night on goal, while
Isabella Kelly led Greensboro with three shots.
Greensboro created repeated first-half chances, taking seven shots and earning five corner kicks but going into halftime scoreless.
Alex Dawson, Kelly and
Claire Friedlander had attempts in the opening 10 minutes, and CJ Jefferson later saved shots from Brennan and
Abby Lush. Lane made two saves for Greensboro as the half ended 0-0.
Greensboro kept Eastern Mennonite off the board in the second half, with Lane saving two more shots and a team save stopping another attempt at the 60:47 mark. Greensboro pushed late with shots from
Natalie Doyel,
Trinity Robinson, Kelly and Brennan, including on-frame attempts by Robinson and Brennan that Gabi Dewey saved. The scoreless half closed a 0-0 final.
