Five Greensboro College student-athletes earned conference weekly awards on Monday for their outstanding play on the field a week ago.
Three baseball players earned recognition, including
Evan Sykes,
Isaiah Faudoa, and
Isaiah Ralls. Sykes earned Player of the Week after going 7-15 (.467) in four games. He also totaled three home runs, two triples, ten RBI, and five runs scored. He also reached the 200 career hit mark, the first in program history to do so.
Faudoa was named Co-Pitcher of the Week after an eight inning start against Brevard on Friday. He allowed just two runs and struck out five. Fellow pitcher
Isaiah Ralls was named Rookie Pitcher of the Week after he also defeated Brevard, going five innings, allowing two unearned runs with three strikeouts.Â
Softball also had a huge week, as
Anna Frazier and
Ella Ebert earned conference honors. Frazier took home Player of the Week after hitting .500 in four games. She scored six runs, hit two home runs, and drove in six.
Ella Ebert was awarded Pitcher of the Week. Ebert threw twelve innings in two appearances, giving up no runs and struck out twelve hitters. Against SVU, she recorded nine strikeouts in a seven inning complete game shutout.
