Athletes of the Week: Testerman, Fenyo, Barry

Greensboro, NC - Keira Fenyo of women's lacrosse was named Greensboro College Pride Female Athlete of the Week, while baseball's Trevor Testerman and Justin Barry of men's lacrosse used record-setting performances to split male honors.

Fenyo opened the week by scoring one of Greensboro's three goals in a loss to Southern Virginia, but on Saturday at N.C. Wesleyan, she delivered arguably the performance of the year for women's lacrosse. In a tightly contested battle against the Battling Bishops, Fenyo ended regulation with a hat trick. In overtime, she took a pass from Sydney Patton and found the back of the net, scoring the game winner for the Pride. The four-goal performance was her fourth hat trick of the season, and with it she set a new career-high with 22 goals and 58 points this season.

Women's lacrosse finishes the regular season with a pair of home games this week (non-conference vs. Warren Wilson and the regular season finale against William Peace) before the USA South Tournament begins next week.

Testerman continued his historic debut season in a Greensboro uniform last week. In four games, the centerfielder went 9-for-16 (.563) with four home runs (including a three-HR performance against Mary Baldwin in the middle game of the series) and 14 runs batted in. As part of his three-home run barrage against the Fighting Squirrels, he set a Greensboro College record for home runs in a season with 15, breaking the previous record of 14 which was set by Pat Burgess in 2006. He has 55 RBIs this season, three shy of Burgess' single-season mark of 58, and his .486 batting average this season is on pace to break Nick Marshall's .468 mark, set in 2024.

The baseball team travels to Southern Virginia this weekend for a three game set.

Barry turned in a pair of stellar performances last week as Greensboro scored conference wins against William Peace and Methodist. Against the Pacers, Barry notched six goals and five assists, before following it up with five goals and an assist against the Monarchs. In doing so, Barry became the first player in Greensboro College history to record 100 points in a season (currently 101) and broke the previous single-season record of 98. The star senior has 58 goals this season, 1 shy of his career-best, and his 43 assists are by far the highest of his career. He enters the final week of the regular season second in career points, third in career goals, and tied for third in career assists at Greensboro College.

Men's lacrosse concludes the regular season at Warren Wilson and Piedmont this week before the USA South Tournament begins.
