Baseball Defeats Muskingum in Weekday Matchup

Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Baseball (8-7) took on Muskingum (4-7) at Ted Leonard Park on Wednesday afternoon and won 9-6.

Muskingum scored first with one run in the first inning and led 1-0 until they scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take a 4-0 advantage.

It was some late inning magic that got Greensboro back in the game. In the seventh, Greensboro scored four runs on five hits to tie the game. Muskingum came back with two of their own in the top of the eighth to retake the lead 6-4, but the Pride scored another five runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead for good.

Sophomore Wesley Calloway hit the eventual game winner, as he lined a two-run single to left field to give Greensboro a 7-6 lead. They would score two more in the inning, and freshman Parker Broadus nailed down the save in the ninth to give Greensboro their eighth win of the season.

Luke Sauer started on the mound and went 5.0 innings, giving up 4 runs and striking out 2. Jason Kithcart Jr. earned his first win as a member of the Pride in relief.

Notes:
- This was Broadus' first career save.
- The team's 9 runs are the most they have scored since February 25 in a 9-4 win over Roanoke.
