Kensly Stewart and
Lindsay Redmon teamed up to lead Greensboro College Women's Basketball (7-12, 4-8) to a road conference win over Salem College (4-14, 1-13) 76-68 on Saturday afternoon.
It was a slow start for the Pride, but they would get hot late in the first quarter and take a 19-16 lead. They then had a 28-point second period to take a 47-34 lead at the half.Â
It was the Spirits who took momentum in the third, outscoring Greensboro 20-14. Salem was led by Nicole Hester, who scored 16 points on the afternoon.Â
Salem cut the score to 63-62 in the fourth quarter, but Greensboro would once again catch fire and pull away late to earn a key conference win.Â
In addition to her 16 points, Stewart also had 2 assists and 2 steals. Redmon was key in the victory, hitting 5 three-pointers and scoring a career high 15 points. Senior
Ary Ingram had 13 points and 8 rebounds.
Jenx Ervin led the Pride in rebounding with 9.
Notes:
- Greensboro now has one more conference win this season than all of last season.
- The Pride bench scored 32 points.
- As a team, Greensboro hit 12 three-pointers, just two off their season high of 14.
