Bridgewater, VA - Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse (4-1) took on ODAC opponent Bridgewater (4-0) on Wednesday in an exciting non-conference matchup. The Pride would fall 9-8 in a classic battle.
The Eagles scored first in the first quarter before goals from
DiMaggio Wilson and
Justin Barry put Greensboro up 2-1. Bridgewater then scored back-to-back goals themselves to go back ahead 3-2.
The teams each scored 1 goal in the second quarter, as the Eagles took a 4-3 lead at the half. After going down 5-3, Barry scored his second goal to make the score 5-4 in the third. The teams traded goals again, but
Seth Woods and and Barry scored goals late in the third to tie the game 7-7.
With the Eagles up 8-7,
Chas Gilroy tied the game 8-8 with 6:05 to play in the fourth. The game-winning goal for Bridgewater came with just 2:16 to go, as the Eagles squeaked out the victory.
Woods and Barry scored 3 goals each, while
Quinton Solomon had 7 ground balls.
Braeden Mitchell came through with 20 saves in goal.

- Mitchell is second in the conference in saves with 53.
- Woods leads the USA South in goals scored with 25.
- Greensboro was 18-19 in clears for the game.
