GREENSBORO, NC - It was a big day for both Greensboro College soccer teams on Monday as Alyssa Lane and Brandon Droese were recognized for their play last week by the USA South Conference.

Lane, a freshman goalkeeper, was named both Defender of the Week and Rookie of the Week after eleven saves in two games against the two top ranked teams in the USA South. Against Brevard, Lane totaled three saves in a 1-1 draw on the road. On Saturday, Lane kept the Knights off the scoreboard with eight saves in a 0-0 draw at Pride Field.

Droese, a freshman defender, scored the game-winning goal late in Saturday afternoon's conference contest against Mary Baldwin. The goal was Droese's first of his career and clinched a key conference win for the Pride, who are tied for second place in the men's soccer standings.
