Fayetteville, NC - It was another career performance from
DJ Jackson on Friday night as Greensboro College Men's Basketball (7-10, 3-3) defeated Methodist (8-9, 4-3) 91-79. Jackson scored a career-high 32 points to go along with 9 rebounds.
It was all Greensboro from the jump as the Pride outscored the Monarchs 53-29 in the first half. Greensboro got out to an 8-0 lead early on and continued to increase their advantage as the half went along. The Pride shot a whopping 63% from the floor and 5-9 from long range in the first 20 minutes.
The Monarchs did turn it around in the second half, outscoring Greensboro 50-38. While they shot just 32% in the first half, they would shoot 51% in the second. Despite the second half turnaround from Methodist, however, Greensboro wouldn't allow the Monarchs to mount a comeback and would secure the win.
The Pride were strong inside in this one, outscoring the Monarchs 50-40 in the paint. They also had 18 points off turnovers.
For Jackson, it was his second 30-point game of the season, and raises his scoring average to 18.9 points per game.
Will Gray also had a solid performance, scoring 16 points with 5 assists.
Jeremiah Howard would have a 15-point, 9 rebound game, coming one rebound shy of his second straight double-double.
Notes:
- Jackson leads the entire USA South at 18.9 points per game, over a full point ahead of second place.
- Greensboro shot just 66% from the free throw line on the night, while the Monarchs shot 91%.

Ryan Roberts had 10 rebounds, just 2 shy of tying his career high of 12.
